Why KitchenBucks Exists

Most kitchen product review sites have a problem. They rank products based on Amazon popularity, not actual performance. We started KitchenBucks to fix that.

The Problem We Saw
  • Top-10 lists built from Amazon sales rank, not testing
  • Vague “pros and cons” with no real-world evidence
  • Same 5 products recommended on every site
  • No mention of long-term durability or common failure points
  • Paid partnerships quietly influencing rankings
  • No accountability — no one signs their name to the review
The KitchenBucks Difference
  • Every product tested in a real home kitchen
  • Minimum 2-week use period before any review is written
  • All products purchased at retail — no free PR samples
  • Long-term durability results included in major reviews
  • Editorial decisions made independently, never for pay
  • Olivia puts her name — and reputation — on every recommendation

Our Testing Process

Every “Best Of” list and product review on KitchenBucks goes through the same structured process — no shortcuts.

Step 01

We buy the product ourselves

All products are purchased at retail price. We never accept free products in exchange for coverage. This removes any possibility of bias before testing even begins.

Step 02

Real cooking for at least 2 weeks

We cook actual recipes — not “demonstration meals” designed to make a pan look good. Eggs, acidic sauces, high-heat searing, baked goods — whatever the product is meant to handle.

Step 03

Long-term durability check

For nonstick cookware, we run 30+ cooking cycles. Bakeware gets tested at max recommended temperatures. We check for warping, coating breakdown, handle stability, and cleaning difficulty over time.

Step 04

Side-by-side comparison

The product is compared to at least 2-3 direct competitors at the same price point. A #1 ranking at KitchenBucks means we actually compared it and it came out ahead — not just that it has good reviews on Amazon.

Step 05

Balanced, honest write-up

We document flaws, limitations, and deal-breakers — even in products we recommend. If there’s a common user complaint we’ve confirmed in testing, it goes in the review.

Step 06

Annual content review

Product lines change. Prices shift. New competitors emerge. We revisit and update major “Best Of” posts at least once per year to make sure our recommendations are still accurate.

Our Editorial Standards

These are the commitments that govern how every piece of content is created and published on KitchenBucks.

No sponsored rankings

Brands cannot pay to appear in — or move up — our “Best Of” lists. Ever. Our rankings are based entirely on testing performance.

Transparent affiliate relationships

We earn commissions on purchases made through our links. This is clearly disclosed on every page. Our affiliate relationships never influence product rankings.

Clear sourcing on all claims

When we cite performance data, price comparisons, or manufacturer specifications, we link to the source. We don’t present opinion as fact.

Corrections policy

If we get something wrong, we fix it and note the correction. Reader trust matters more than protecting a past mistake.

No fake review aggregation

We do not synthesize user reviews from Amazon or other platforms and present them as our own testing experience. What we write is what we experienced.

Dated, updated content

Every article shows when it was published and last updated. Product recommendations that are more than 12 months old get a full review before staying live.

📋 How KitchenBucks Makes Money

KitchenBucks is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. We may also participate in other affiliate programs for brands we cover.

When you click a product link on KitchenBucks and make a purchase, we may receive a small commission from the retailer — at no additional cost to you. Prices and availability are accurate as of the date published.

Commissions never influence our editorial decisions. We have declined to recommend products that had favorable affiliate terms but poor testing results. We have recommended products with no affiliate program at all when they were the best option.
